Quarter 2, Week 9:

Happy December, 3C family!

Our new assistant teacher, Mr. Lynch, has been a great addition to our 3C family throughout this transition! We are glad to have his help and his joyful spirit in the classroom. He has left you a note with a brief introduction of himself:

Hello, Parents of 3C,
My name is Paul Lynch. I will be joining your classroom for the rest of the academic year. I wanted to share a little about myself. I am a professional trombonist and music educator in the Phoenix area. I can usually be found around a stage, either in an ensemble or below the stage for musicals. I am the currently serving as bass trombonist and Board of Directors member of the Salt River Brass Band. I also collaborate with music educators on enriching the musical experience of their students by providing group and individual coaching to their low brass musicians.

I am completing the last year of my Doctor of Musical Arts degree with an emphasis on trombone performance, at Arizona State University. While at ASU, I’ve been an active member of the trombone studio and ensemble, jazz band, wind ensemble, and orchestra. I also serve as one of two assistant directors of the ASU Trombone Ensemble. In 2017, I had the privilege of conducting the ASU Trombone Ensemble on the opening piece at our International Trombone Festival debut.

Outside of music and teaching, I still have time for hobbies. I love spending time playing games and going on walks with my wife, Brianna Lynch, lead teacher of 5A at Arete. When we are not playing games, we both spend numerous hours with our cats, Cosmo and Gustav. I am excited to share the stories of their (mis)adventures with your children. I am also an avid soccer fan. This includes watching numerous games on the weekends and attending Phoenix Rising FC games whenever I have a chance.
I am looking forward to working with your children!
Paul Lynch
