Quarter 4, Week 10:

Parents, as we finish up this week, please expect your child to be bringing home their desk materials little by little. Friday is the last day of school!

Language Arts

There will be no spelling this week. We will finish Little House.  Students should be memorizing Jimmy Jet and his TV Set which is to be recited on May 22nd.

Math

We will learn about pounds and ounces. There will be no math groups on Wednesday.

Science

Student planet projects are due on Monday. Students will present their planet models to their class!

History

Students will present their thirteen colonies project to the class this week!

Quarter 4, Week 9:

Language Arts

This is our last week of spelling words and a test. We will continue Little House. Students will be working on their planet essay in class.  Students should be memorizing Jimmy Jet and his TV Set which is due May 22nd.

Math

We will be practicing grams and kilograms. There will be a quiz on Tuesday. Then on Thursday and Friday we will be taking the Great Hearts Singapore Benchmark Assessment. This is not a grade, but a benchmark test for the network.  To help with math groups this week sign up here:

Science

Students will read and learn about Mae Jemison, an astronaut who was the first female African American in space. They will write an essay giving reasons why she is a good role model.

History

Students will be assigned a colony for an in-class project. Students will use history books and the computers to find information about their colony. Then they will use that information to write a letter to convince a ‘friend’ to visit their colony. They will present their project to the class next week.

Quarter 4, Week 8:

Language Arts

Spelling will be normal next week with a test Friday. We will continue Little House on the Prairie and there will be a craft on Tuesday. We will start a planet project for our writing unit and the students will be doing a research essay. Students should be memorizing Jimmy Jet and his TV Set which is due May 22nd.

Math

We will be working with grams and kilograms this week. To help with math groups this week sign up here:  

Science

Students will have an assessment on Tuesday. Please take time to study with your child on Monday. They will be learning more about stars, black holes, and constellations.

History

Students will be getting a study guide on Monday that will be filled out in class. We will do a review on Thursday then have the New England and Middle Colonies test on Friday.
