Quarter 2, Week 10


Language Arts: We have completed Narnia and will write reflection paragraphs about bravery. I hope you have been practicing our poem, “Stopping Through Woods on a Snowy Evening.” Recitations are Tuesday. 

Math: We will work on bar graphs and tally charts to record data this week. These lessons are fun!

History: We will be finishing up our unit on Rome this short week. Review the reasons for the Roman Empire’s failure. In addition to looking further at some of the innovations as a result of the Roman expansion over Europe. Next up is our student’s study of the Vikings and their explorations onto different continents. 

Science: Please encourage scholars to study for their final Science test of the quarter. The test will be Tuesday, December 17th.

Our Narnia party will be on Wednesday and I’m looking forward to the movie to end the event. :)

Quarter 2, Week 9:


Language Arts: We will continue reading Narnia this week. There will be a normal spelling schedule. Continue practicing poem, “Stopping Through Woods on a Snowy Evening.” 

Math: We will practice multiplying and dividing money on monday and then take a short quiz. On tuesday and wednesday we will do a cumulative review and then take a cumulative test on units 1-4,9. On Friday, the students will be introduced to the order of operations!

History: Students will be completing their test on the two Ceasars, or continuing on with the study of Roman lands part of the Roman Empire during A.D. 117, using an ancient Rome map. They will also be looking at some of the engineering marvels such as: roads, bridges and aquaducts. Finally, a closer look at the buildings of Rome and possibly, study the life of a Gladiator and the “games” they participated in. Introduction to many new vocabulary words.  

Science: Students will learn about the three main parts of the brain and their functions. A study guide will be sent home on Tuesday to be completed and reviewed by Friday. The final Science test of the quarter will be Tuesday, December 17th.

Quarter 2, Week 8:

Hello, 3C families! 

Ms. Lowe and I hope you all had a joy-filled and restful Thanksgiving!

Congratulations to our 3C spelling bee champion is Natalie P. and our Runner-up, Michaela B!
There were some truly challenging words on the list this year and everyone did their absolute best.
We are proud of our scholars. 

Here is what this upcoming week looks like:

Language Arts: We will continue reading Narnia this week. There will be a normal spelling schedule. Our new poem, Stopping Through Woods on a Snowy Evening will be assigned this week.
Math: We will be learning the subtraction of money through simple computation and word problems. There will be a short quiz. If you can help with math groups this week, please sign up!
History: Students will be completing their study of the  the two Caesars: Julius and Cleopatra and Augustus Ceasar. They will also be completing a study guide in class covering information related to the two  Ceasars.  There will be an open note test on the Thursday after Thanksgiving break. Continuing into the study of the lands that became part of the Roman Empire in A.D. 117.
Science: Students will continue learning about their nervous system. They will understand how signals, or messages, are sent throughout the nervous system
