Language Arts
This is our last week of spelling words and a test. We will continue Little House. Students will be working on their planet essay in class. Students should be memorizing Jimmy Jet and his TV Set which is due May 22nd.
Math
We will be practicing grams and kilograms. There will be a quiz on Tuesday. Then on Thursday and Friday we will be taking the Great Hearts Singapore Benchmark Assessment. This is not a grade, but a benchmark test for the network. To help with math groups this week sign up here:
Science
Students will read and learn about Mae Jemison, an astronaut who was the first female African American in space. They will write an essay giving reasons why she is a good role model.
History
Students will be assigned a colony for an in-class project. Students will use history books and the computers to find information about their colony. Then they will use that information to write a letter to convince a ‘friend’ to visit their colony. They will present their project to the class next week.
