Quarter 1, Week 7:

Language Arts: We have a normal week of spelling with a test Friday. We will be memorizing “The Eletelephony” by Laura Richards. Children should review daily at home. Recitations will be on Sept 25.

Math: This week we are excited to venture into becoming proficient with our multiplication facts. Initially students will be recognizing their facts as arrays of things in organized rows and columns. Using the “expression” (5x6) to create their own “array”, and recognize “arrays” as specific mathematical “expressions”.  Can you volunteer for math groups Wednesday morning? History: Students will continue to take a closer look at our northern neighboring country, Canada, and examine the War in Canada. In addition, they will discuss the causes and results of this war. Later in the week they will also explore how Canada expands west, just as our own country did in it’s years of discovery. Expanded vocabulary words will continue to be added to their library. Students are also continuing to research their own chosen Provinces of Canada and collect important information that they will present to their classmates at the end of this month.

Science: Students will begin learning about the M in “MR. FAB”...Mammals!
